Radisson BLU Hotel & Spa Cork Invite Customers to Battle It Out for a Big Slice of the Action as they Launch Competition to Name their New Restaurant
~ Winner to Receive Dinner for 2 for A FULL YEAR!
The team at the Radisson BLU Hotel & Spa at Cork’s Little Island have a big reason to celebrate – and they are determined to involve the public in the buzz and excitement. Following an 18-month-long refurbishment of the hotel’s luxurious and contemporary ground floor, which culminated in the recent revamp of their old Island Grillroom restaurant, management and staff are finally ready to launch the fruits of their labour with a unique and intriguing competition.
Not content with unveiling their new-look hotel with a simple snip of a ribbon, the dedicated Radisson BLU crew have decided to mark the occasion by inviting the general public to name their chic and stylish new eatery. From February 27th until March 10th, people all over Cork and beyond will be asked to submit their suggested restaurant name via the relevant social media channels and to explain why they chose this particular name for the new food hot spot. Entrants will be carefully considered by a judging panel and the winner will be announced on 13th March.
While the competition poses an exciting challenge, it is the prize for the worthy champion that truly takes the biscuit. Not content with simply bestowing the honour of naming the restaurant on the successful candidate, the team at the Radisson BLU Cork are offering the winner the chance to enjoy dinner for two EVERY MONTH FOR A YEAR!
Shane Fitzpatrick, General Manager of the popular Cork retreat, explained the reasoning behind handing over such a significant task to the public and why it warrants such an impressive reward, “We spent weeks trying to decide on the perfect name for this gorgeous new space and while there were many great ideas in the mix, it occurred to us that the people best equipped to make such an important decision are those who spend quality time here; relaxing and having fun with friends and family while enjoying great food.”
He added: “Essentially, we want people to feel completely at home in our beautiful new restaurant, so it seems incredibly fitting that the public take such a prominent role in both its origins and its future. So let the battle commence – and may the most creative thinker win!”
Visit www.facebook.com/RadissonCork to find out how you can submit your suggested restaurant name and be in with the chance of winning dinner for two every month for a year in your very own restaurant! Winner to be announced on Monday 13th March. Let the naming begin!
Those familiar with the former layout of the restaurant will be astounded by its transformation, while those visiting for the first time will be understandably impressed. Casual dining is the order of the day at the lavish but comfortable bistro, with brown leather booths and dark mahogany tables taking centre stage in the spacious dining area. An enhanced children’s area is located just off the main restaurant, making it a perfect choice for families, as well as couples and groups of friends. While the tone may be informal and relaxed, the food is far from it, with a wide range of delicious dishes constructed and prepared under the experienced eye of award-winning Executive Chef James Rendell.
Although the team at the Radisson BLU Hotel & Spa Cork are keen and excited for diners to experience the new eatery, they also wait with baited breath to gauge the reaction to the overall ground floor refurb, which incorporated The Great Island Ballroom, the chic and contemporary hotel lobby, stylish Banks Bar and of course, the elegant and charming Ditchley House, a listed Victorian building perched proudly beside the hotel’s modern structure.
During the extensive renovations, 40 bedrooms were also given a luxurious makeover, placing the Radisson BLU Cork firmly on the map as one of the city’s most stylish and sought-after destinations for weddings, leisure breaks and special occasions. The remaining 86 bedrooms will be refurbished in 2017 and 2018, so continuous investment will add to the hotel’s offering.
Speaking ahead of the big reveal – an exclusive event that will offer guests their very first official viewing of the new-look building – Director of Sales and Marketing Colette Walsh explained what this drastic revamp means, not only to the hotel’s large and long-serving team of staff, but also to the people who will benefit most from the final result: the general public.
“The hard work, long hours and detailed planning that has gone into this ground floor refurbishment – on behalf of everyone involved – has all been worthwhile now that we see the amazing outcome. Now we can’t wait to officially share it with our customers, both old and new.”
She continued: “It means a lot to the staff of this hotel that the facilities and surroundings match the high expectations the general public may have when they consider the Radisson BLU name. With all of our revamped spaces now open for business, the customer’s experience is more enhanced than ever before. Whether we are meeting with future wedding couples in search of the perfect venue or families planning a weekend break, we are now prouder than ever to showcase all of the many services and amenities this beautiful hotel has to offer.”
I look forward to attending the official “Ground Floor Refurbishment Launch” at Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa, Little Island, Cork later this month!
